International Symposium on Water Relations in Plants

We are pleased to announce the International Symposium on Water Relations in Plants, which will take place in Pamplona in February 25-27th 2026, organized by the Water Relations Group of the Spanish Plant Biology Society. This event will bring together researchers, early-career scientists, industry professionals, and policy makers to discuss the latest advances in plant water relations and their role in addressing today’s environmental and agricultural challenges.

The symposium will feature six thematic sessions covering a wide range of topics—from molecular mechanisms to ecosystem-level processes and integrated water management strategies:

– Physiological and molecular mechanisms of water relations
– Water relations in natural systems: from grasslands to forests
– Water relations in agriculturally important species
– New methodologies and technologies for monitoring plant water relations
– Water relations in the context of global change
– Integrated water management in agricultural and forest systems

In addition to the scientific program, the event will include:

– A Special Issue for selected contributions
– And the Award for the Best PhD Thesis in Plant Water Relations, recognizing outstanding doctoral research in the field

We invite you to join us for this exciting opportunity to share knowledge, foster collaborations, and explore innovative solutions for sustainable agriculture and ecosystem management in the face of climate change.
